Golden Milk is a classic Ayurveda recipe – but have you ever thought about combining it with delicious oats to create an amazing golden milk overnight oats smoothie?
It’s so easy, I think you’re going to love it!
Step 1: Make your Golden Milk like normal (my recipe is here). Let it cool a little after you’ve brought all the ingredients together, and then set aside whilst you do step 2.
Step 2: In a screw-top mason jar (which you can buy easily and cheaply from Amazon by clicking here) put in a serving of oats for one person into the bottom of the jar. If you’re making this recipe for two – then you can double the serving (obviously) but you might need a bigger jar, or two separate jars.
Step 3: Slice up some bananas and pop about half of a banana over the oats.
Step 4: Put one heaping of honey over the bananas.
Step 5: Pour the Golden Milk into the jar over the entire contents.
Step 6: Screw the lid, and leave overnight in the fridge.
Step 7: The next morning, empty into a blender and blend away! If you prefer your smoothies a little ‘looser’ then add in half a cup of extra whole milk. This will help make the smoothie more fluid.
Top tip: If you’re not a fan of banana, I’ve also done this with raisins, and with apple – and both times it has been equally delicious, so give them a try too! I’ve also tried with a dollop of peanut butter too – which was so tasty!
